AHL Third Jersey Update, Part 2

This weekend, I wrote up a bit about new third jerseys around the AHL — something I didn't get to as part of the Icethetics Season Preview. I've got more, thanks to some awesome readers.

The Hershey Bears are going the simplicity route with minimalist text across the front of their third jersey. You'll have to forgive the picture quality. Cell phone cameras... what can I say?

Psst... how about that California Seals towel in the corner of the picture?

Anyway, next to it is the Portland Pirates' new third jersey — different from their regular red jersey in that it has much less black and new silver piping. Looks a little plain, but it's got that slug on both shoulders.

If any other new third jerseys turn up, let me know and I'll post them here.

Darn it.. I was so going to mention the California Seals tag in the upper-left corner, but unfortunately I was beaten to it :[

We haven't seen anything yet, but the Norfolk Admirals are going to have 2 alternates this season. The one they wear the most is supposed to mirror the jerseys worn by the first Admirals team in 1988-89. Think originial Buffalo Sabres with only the chest logo changed. The second jersey won't be worn until late February, early March as they are just worn for a weekend set and then auctioned off.

that is my picture, and not only a golden seals towel.... but one of all the teams at the time (late 70's i believe). I will send a pic of it along with a better pic of the bears jersey soon.
