Evidently a customer service rep with the Isles has been in "contanct" with the team store. He says no release date has been set but it will be available for purchase before the season begins. He also says the there will be an announcement made on the team's web site at some point. He posted all of this on the Isles' official message board and even though you have to be a member to read it, fellow blogger Sean was happy to oblige.

Onto the Thrashers, now. They're much more about beating around the bush. In an email to fans, the club says "fans will have the opportunity to see a new look for the Thrashers" on July 26. So let the countdowns begin. Here's the email that was sent. The pertinent information is highlighted.

It's been a rather prolific week for me — three posts a day and all — but I'm afraid that streak will soon end. I'm not sure how much updating I'll be doing over the weekend while I'm on a mini-vacation in Orlando. I'll try to keep an eye on things though and get any important info posted quickly.

By "new look" do they mean a new home jersey and a new road jersey, or is it really a third one ?

I've heard things along the lines of a Bergundy Thrashers jersey.
I think if it was about players it would be worded as "Fans will have a chance to see the New Look Thrashers."
Bring back the old away sweaters and burn the baby blue ones!!!!
I like the baby blue ones, but i'd rather see the old away sweaters back as the official and the baby blue ones as alternates, as it used to be.

From what I have heard the third jerseys the Islanders are going to have next season will be a retro one. It is supposed to be based on their original jerseys from 1972. They wore a blue jersey based on the 1972 look for one game during the 2006-2007 season. They looked awesome in my opinion, so I hope the rumor is true.
The sabres are releasing their third jersey on spetember 20th. I was listening to wgr550 and they were talking to larry quin, he confirmed it.
