Meh-tropolitans. Too similar, but what're you gonna do. #2's evokes a metropolitan skyline the best with the skyscraper-like shading of the M so that has my vote. Out of the three it's looks the most suitable for a primary crest. I can't recall any vertical oval logos in hockey, so it doesn't seem to me like it would work out well (Montreal and Carolina's have oval logos, but they're horizontal)
#2... the M being made to look like buildings works well with the "Metropolitans" name. Still would have like to see some different ideas from this, but I agree it's a tough name to work with. Maybe if someone ripped off the starbucks logo?
I made many logo's but my seattle one was my best and it pains me to see the SAME logo as our three choices. So sad. #2 will win,...so lets put that one up against two other artists. what do you think?
Did any of you who are complaining ever stop and think that these might have been the only 3 logo designs Chris may have received for this team? (besides Lucas' who said these were better anyway and Trevor's)
He can only put into the poll what he receives. If he gets so-so logos he's going to have to put up so-so logos. It's not his fault.
@ogre39666: If I'm reading Trevor's comment correctly, he submitted a logo for this which is none of the three.
In any case, whether this is all Chris had to choose from or he just did a horrible job of winnowing down to three, the fact remains that there's no point in voting on this one, so I'm not going to.
@ S.D. I acknowledged Trevor's said logo (although we know nothing of its quality, just that it exists). And my comment was in no way meant to be a defense of the logos in this poll; I was just trying to add some perspective to some of the complaints I was reading.

The logos are very well done, I just wish there was more variety. No one decided to make logos for this team? Sad. I went with #2.

To be fair, it's not easy to come up with an image for a name like "Metropolitans"...So the same guy did all three (duh), but THEY'RE STILL GOOD!
ReplyDeleteI can see why #2 is leading...the "M" with the Space Needle in the middle looks like some skyscrapers.
Looking forward to tomorrow though, so I can see the Vancouver Dynamo's choices (they should be good!)

These all have to have been submitted by the same artist.. the Needle is the same in every design, and they all have the same white star.
