ReplyDeleteIs there a reason you Changed my Blue. I made it darker becasue of the Green colour you gave us..i even added the colour in the bar you provided. :S Now it looks like crap!

ReplyDeleteFirst off, N-F #1 is awesome! simple, clean, vintage look how the W was made into a B and claws incorporated like the back whale fin!!!

With out question. as an artist that kind hurts. Its only a few shades darker Blue but it make the world of diffrnece to me. i think. Sorry chris for Flamin here. but it just really buged me that this happend with out asking or questioning it. Please Correct me if im wrong here.

ReplyDeleteNo vote here. F#1,2,3 are all good secondary logos, but not primaries. Almost voted for N-F#6 (outline of white bear face), but just not feeling it. And any of the N-F's with "H" and "B" made me think of Hersey Bears

Another vote for non-finalist #1 - I love the twist on the old Whalers logo with the "H" in the negative space from the "B".

ReplyDeleteHey Mike. Sorry that bothered you. I change colors on all logos submitted unless asked not to. I wrote out specific guidelines so that they would be followed not because I was bored. (Sorry if that sounded sarcastic.)
I wrote: "Try to stick to the assigned colors. Change them only if you deem it necessary and then explain why you made the change."

ReplyDeleteI give a very lukewarm vote to Non-Finalist #2. I have to say, however, that IMO this has been the weakest batch of this project. The only one that I thought was really clever was NF#1, but it's far too derivative to get my vote. I also appreciate that NF#6 tried something different, but it just didn't work. As for the finalists, all I have to say is "No, no, and no."

Imo NF top row, left and F #2 were tied but I voted for NF top row, left because F #2 is seemingly out of the running. I really like the ghostly look to F #2 (it looks like a grizzly to me) and the simpleness to NF top row, left.

ReplyDeleteYa, he changed the colour for my Edmonton Seahawks E with the feathers too... granted mine was a lighter blue and a darker green, but when you're told that you can alter the colour palette a bit and then it's changed back to the original palette colours, why tell us that we can change the colours in the first place?

ReplyDeleteYou see what you want to see. This frustrates me. Why do you guys only pay attention to some of what I say and not all of it? I said you can change the colors IF YOU OFFER A GOOD REASON. Otherwise, I assume the correct colors were lost in translation somewhere. This isn't a difficult concept to grasp.
I apologize for being short. Like I said, it frustrates me a little.
Those three finalists are horrible choices.

ReplyDeletelol look at how much participation there was at the start of the project... Atlanta had like 2400 total votes, there most recent ones are at 1300... one word for this "project": FAIL
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't give this project a "fail". I just think a lot of people are being over-critical and instead of voting for whichever submission they feel is the BEST they choosing not to vote at all (which is btw, the least effective form of protest). That combined with some peoples dislike (to put it mildly) of names, locations, and color schemes (some of which have indeed been odd), adds to the lower participation numbers.
ReplyDeleteI think once Chris has a chance to start one of these things from the ground up you'll see the votes reach their early round numbers (although with the way people are bitching you never know...)
