Canadiens' New Center Logo

The Montreal Canadiens said a couple weeks ago that they would be using their new 100th anniversary logo at center ice instead of their primary logo.

We now have a photo of what that looks like.

Complete with new Bell Centre text around the circle and everything. Very classy.

Hmm. Gotta say. I'm not a fan. It's a bit kludgy IMO. Though I'm try to assess whether I'm being biased because I don't like the Habs. :) Let's just say, if the Wild had something similar in, ya know, the year 2100, I'd be "meh" about it from the great hockey rink in the sky...

New logo = good.

Saying CentreBell four times = bad.

Having four different corporate whore logos for the faceoff dots = worse. At least with just two logos, it would look a little balanced.

Looks beautiful to me, eh?

I have a feeling the Bell Centre text would have changed either way, given that Bell recently changed its own logo.

They should've had one logo spread across the entire circle. The nentire neutral zone is starting to look like a European rink.

Jacket fan, every team that can find sponsors willing to buy those ice spots does that. And that's been done for a long time. No game elements are changed (you will see logos for faceoff circles in Europe) and unlike Europe, there are no logos permitted outside the blue lines. None.

To celebrate the 100th, they should have left off the White coat like they did back then. That would be cool.

Meh. Nothing too special.
