I had a fist like #2 holding a hockey stick...but I decided to not use it cause I thought it would be offensive...damn.

Aw, mine didn't make it. Too bad I guess.

It was a cowboy with a bandana mask in the shape of a "P".

I picked #1 since it looks like the rebel flag. The second one looks like the fist from about 30 music albums. Copy cat.

The third one... It doesn't scream "Rebels" it screams, "We surrender!!!"

None of these look like Primary logos though. It's still cool to see what people come up with.

(I had to edit my post.)

Although #2 looks good, and I thought of doing the same (mine is the "surrender" flag- looking back, probably should have done and orange flag with white text), I agree with Jason New Era in the fact that its been done before in so many places that its not really all too original anymore. I think its even in a book called "1984" but its been a while since I read it so I could be wrong.

There are quality logos being made here lately, but I personally think they all fail in capturing the essence of the team name. Think UNLV Runnin Rebels.

These logos arent too bad. I actually like them. I wish mine made the cut, i think the one i made was preety cool. It was a skate with flames shooting out at the end of the skate and it said Portland Rebels around it.

Don't get me wrong. I think the logo is nicely done, It just seemed to have the wrong colors. I would agree that it might've been better with a orange/green flag.

I like #2. It got my vote.

Ya, I realize that now. Anyhow thanks for the constructive criticism.
Can't wait for the new league we get to design that will be some good fun.

I'm in strong agreement with the rules at http://www.bushleaguefactor.com/rules.asp : anything with a piece of hockey equipment gets passed over. That's rules out #3.

Can't say too much about #1.

I thinks its #2 by default. I'd be happy have it as my fantasy teams logo. You never see it as a real team's logo tough.

ccwaterz, thanks for the plug of my website. :-)

I also went with #2. No, it's not super original, but it works. "Rebels" is one of those names that's hard to make a good logo for (particularly if you're not in the Southeast and can't fall back on Confederate imagery), but that one manages to have a feel of rebellion that the others lack.

Although Hockey equipment is frequently over and miss used I don't think that the "baby should be thrown out with the bath water," you can integrate hockey equipment into a logo very well and have an amazing logo, but you can also kill a logo with it. Normally the bad logos with hockey equipment are poorly designed to begin with. There are many really well designed logos that would be lacking if missing those hockey equipment eg. Colorado, San Jose, Washington and those are just the NHL primaries, you could look to any sport and find amazing logos that involve equipment. Although my logo isn't an elite design I think it deserves its dues. In fact if you merged the stick into #1's design I think you have the best logo of the trio. I don't think you should penalize a logo one one aspect but rather the overall feel of the design, if its poorly executed then be it, but if its well done, don't nitpick it because it goes against personal theology.

I do have other problems with the rules on the site listed but this isn't the place to argue those nor do they need to be argued they are someones opinion and everyone is in titled to one. I just felt the need to lay mine out in the case above, and I don't mean to step on toes so I'm sorry if I did.

"Rebels" is tough one. Short of drawing up a Yosemite Sam like character or ripping off http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Rebel_Alliance_logo.png there's not much to go on.

I'm not sure how religion plays into it. Its an OPINION poll. I voted and stated my opinion. Lets leave it at that. Sorry my opinion didn't work out for you this time.

SD: I'm anxiously awaiting your Iowa Chops write up.
